XVALUE

Syntax: XVALUE(P, C)

P = a string containing the pathname, enclosed in quotations, of another spreadsheet.
C = a valid cell reference or #

XVALUE returns the value of cell C in sheet saved as a file with pathname P. When the cell reference C is the same as the cell containing the XVALUE function, use the hash mark (#) as the second argument. Cell names are currently not supported for the second argument.

If sheet P is currently loaded into another instance of SpreadScript, and you change a value, you must first save sheet P then recalculate the sheet containing the XVALUE function to retrieve the new value entered into sheet P.

Examples:

XVALUE(``controls.xs3'', A1) returns the value of cell A1 from the sheet saved as the file controls.xs3 in the directory from which SpreadScript was launched when the XVALUE function is stored in a cell other than A1.

XVALUE(``controls.xs3'', #) returns the value of cell A1 from the sheet saved as the file controls.xs3 in the directory from which SpreadScript was launched when the XVALUE function is stored in cell A1.

Excel function: N/A
